Bauchi Chief Imam calls for reduction in Hajj fare


Chief Imam of Bauchi Central Mosque Malam Bala Baban Inna has appealed to the state governor Bala Mohammed to facilitate the reduction of this year’s Hajj fare to Mecca for the state pilgrims.


Blueprint reports that the state had recently announced the sum of N1.5 million as this year’s Hajj fare for intending pilgrims.


The Chief Imam made the appeal on Tuesday while delivering his sallah  sermon shortly after leading eid prayers at the Bauchi central Eid mosque.


He also tasked the state government on frequent environmental sanitation especially in the state capital with a view to evacuating refuse dumped on the streets.


This is even as the Chief Imam called on the new state governor to maintain regular and prompt payment of salaries and pensions to workers, retirees in the state noting that Bauchi is a civil service state.


In his sallah message, Emir of Bauchi Alhaji Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu charged parents on moral upbringing of their children, enrollment in both islamic and modern schools so that they will be responsible members of the society.
