A pro-All Progressives Congress (APC) on the platform of Bauchi Coalition for Sustainable Democracy, Peace & Justice, has expressed confidence that the outcome of the Election Petition Tribunal against governor Bala Mohammed will favour the candidate of the party, Air Vice Marshall Abubakar Sadique.
Abubakar is challenging the victory of governor Bala Mohammed of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at the Tribunal.
The coalition at a press conference Wednesday in Abuja, said going by what transpired at the Tribunal the APC candidate has high chances to be victorious at the Tribunal.
Coordinator of the group, Ibrahim Mani, however, called on stakeholders and supporters of the APC to maintain calm, and ensure peaceful atmosphere before during and after the Tribunal’s judgement.
Mani said: “After the closure of the case of our Governorship Candidate, Air Marshall Sadiq Baba Abubakar at Tribunal we deem it necessary to write and draw the attention of all the members of the Bauchi Coalition for Sustainable Democracy, Peace and Justice to the fact that our case was ably presented through our counsel.
“We presented ten (10) witnesses with compelling pieces of evidence to substantiate our arguments before the Honourable Tribunal, while People’s Democratic Party (PPP) and INEC presented only a single witness to close their case.
“Going by what transpired at the Election Tribunal, we the coalition are confident that our stolen mandate will be ultimately restored.
“Meanwhile, we call on our teeming party members, stakeholders and supporters to maintain their calm, and ensure peaceful atmosphere before during and after the Honourable Tribunal’s Judgement.”
