Bamidele, others hail Tinubu’s victory at Supreme Court

In separate reactions to election victory affirmation Supreme Court gave President Bola Tinubu in Abuja, Thursday, the Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele and some other Senators hailed the judgement by describing it as victory for democracy.

Bamidele in a statement from his media office, commended the Supreme  court for standing for the truth and truth alone amid ferocious, needless and relentless intimidation of judicial officers by the petitioners, who trampled upon the national interest in pursuit of their self-centric political agenda.

According to him, now that Judiciary has concluded all the presidential election petitions in favour of President Tinubu, all political actors, interests and parties , should  henceforth stop playing politics with the rule of law and the integrity of the judiciary.

In his own reaction , the Chairman Senate Committee on Appropriations, Solomon Adeola (APC Ogun West) congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his final victory at the Supreme Court.

He said that the judicial validation of the peoples’ mandate bestowed on the president in February by the 7-man Supreme Court panel led by Hon Justice John Inyang Okoro, brings to an end the distracting litigation that had overheated the polity at some as well as exposed the desperation of some politicians for power at all cost.

“The Supreme Court verdict on the February presidential election is a further consolidation of our nascent democracy and the rule of law. As progressives in the political space of Nigeria, we will continue to uphold the rule of law and deepens our democracy. I commend the Supreme Court Justices for their prodigious and learned judgement devoid of sentiments”, he said.
