Army: Lagbaja harps on training, discipline

The Chief of Army Staff, Major General Taoreed Lagbaja has said training, discipline and commitment to duty are key to the current drive to reposition the Nigerian Army.

Lagbaja, who gave this hint in his opening remarks during the ceremony for the second commanding officers’ workshop 2023, themed: “Enhancing operational capability of commanding officers for better performance in a joint environment” held at Nebo Hall, Abati Barracks in Lagos, said it’s in light of this that training workshop are routinely organised for various cadres of officers in the Nigerian Army.”

“It’s with great humanity and gratitude I stand before you today on this occasion of the opening ceremony of the second commanding officers workshop for the year 2023.

“It’s no gainsaying that our dear country has been faced with myriad of security challenges that required urgent, pragmatics and relevant solutions.

“Therefore, I wish to reiterate that training, discipline and commitment to duty are all part of our relevant solutions to the current drive of reposition the Nigerian Army.”

COAS, who was represented by the Corps Commander, Engineering, Major General Philip Erimosele, noted that the fight against kidnapping, terrorism, pipeline vandalism and other forms of security challenges in the country is multi- dimensional and complex.

Consequently, he said, the response of the Nigerian Army to the challenge has been robust, holistic and dynamic.
