ANP has capacity to end insecurity –Chairman

The Chairman Alliance National Party (ANP), Asiwaju Mashood Shittu, has said that the party has the capacity to address the security challenges confronting the nation.

Shittu noted that the current spate of armed banditry and kidnappings could be a matter of the past if the Alliance National Party is given the mandate to govern the country in 2023.

Shittu stated this while receiving a contingent of wives of members of the Armed Forces who laid down their lives in defence of the territorial integrity of the country in the North-east and other parts of the country.

He frowned at the manner in which the federal government was treating families of slain combatant heroes whom he said often get ejected from their barracks accommodation after the demise of their benefactors.

“Even adequate compensation, insurance as well as other post service packages are lacking. We are imploring Nigerians to support and rally round parties like the Alliance National Party in order to guarantee security, adequate protection of citizens and ending terrorism, armed banditry, and other threat to national security.

“We cannot achieve this without the effort of Nigerian voters who owe every political party outside the PDP and APC the task to identify with them by henceforth registering with us in order to achieve development physically and human wise. Presently, the lives and properties of Nigerians are not safe going by the laxity of some unpatriotic politicians who have failed to guarantee security.

“The custodians of internal security like the police, DSS and other paramilitary agencies are lacking in terms of modern crime fighting equipment’s, intelligence gathering gadgets, adequate manpower and enough insurance and hazard allowances. Nigerians must not allow their future to be henceforth mortgaged in the hands of bad governors, Ministers, Senators and others. In view of why I am imploring them to seek alternative platform to guarantee their future,” he said.
