Al-Makura, Nasarawa speaker greet Muslims at Eid-el-Fitr, seeks prayers for peace in Nigeria


The Senator representing Nasarawa South at the National Assembly, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, Wednesday, felicitated with Muslims on the occasion of Eid-El-Fitr celebration.
A statement issued to newsmen in Lafia, the state capital by his Chief Press Secretary,  Danjuma Joseph, urged them to direct their actions towards attaining peace and progress in the country.


Senator Al-Makura, said beyond spiritual uplifting, Ramadan fasting also taught lessons of tolerance and peaceful co-existence, pointing out that the lessons would be useful if everyone played his role in strengthening peace and harmony in the country.


“As we celebrate Eid-El-Fitr, which signaled the end of Ramadan, I urge all Muslims to deeply reflect on the lessons taught by the blessed month by promoting values that will uplift us spiritually and also improve the condition of humanity in general,” he said.
Al-Makura further called on all patriotic Nigerians to be with the country and its leaders in prayers.


Meanwhile, the Speaker Nasarawa state House of Assembly, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Jibrin Gwamna urged Muslims and other Nigerians to sustain the spirit of Ramadan and pray for the nation’s security.


Balarabe Abdullahi called on people to continue to pray and strive for the nation’s unity, peace, progress and development.
He enjoined Muslims to sustain the spirit of sacrifice, perseverance, commitment to God’s activities and enhancement of prayers among other good deeds associated with the month of Ramadan.


Speaker Balarabe further urged Muslims and other Nigerians to support President Muhammadu Bahari and Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administrations and other leaders at all levels to succeed.


The speaker urged Nigerians to unite, embrace peace, tolerate one another irrespective of their differences and remain committed to constituted authorities for development to thrive and have an egalitarian society.
