Akwa Ibom: NYSC partners AKTC on corps members’ movements

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Friday met with the management of Akwa Ibom Transport Company (AKTC) and solicited support in conveying corps members across the states of the federation.

The state coordinator of NYSC, Mrs Chinyere Ekwe, disclosed this to newsmen shortly after a closed door meeting with the management of AKTC in Uyo.

She noted that one of the discussions during their meeting was on the dangers of night journey, adding that the scheme has appealed to the transport company to regulate their period of traveling for the safety of corps members.

Ekwe, who stressed that the transport company remains one of their critical stakeholders, said the meeting was to inform the management of the company about the orientation exercise which is to commence on Wednesday, November 1, 2023.

“I have come to meet with the Managing Director of Akwa Ibom Transport Company (AKTC) with my team to inform them about the 2023 Batch C corps member which is scheduled to commence on Wednesday next week.

“I have come to solicit the co-operation of the MD of AKTC and her team concerning the prospective corps members who will be traveling with them to different locations in Nigeria.

“I have also sought the co-operation of them(AKTC) to end their journey by 6p.m so that they can continue the following day if they leave late.”
