Akwa Ibom govt set to train 3000 youths on agriculture, others


The Akwa Ibom state government has concluded a plan to train over 3000 youths drawn from all the senatorial districts of the state.
They are to be trained on agriculture, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Small and Medium Enterprises, (SMEs), oil and gas among others.


This was just as the government released the list of the first batch of successful applicants for the training on Thursday.
A statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Trade and Investment, Mr Oliver Udoukpo, and made available to Blueprint in Uyo, directed all the applicants to visit the official website for the confirmation of their names.


The statement also directed other successful applicants to visit the ministry and their respective local government to verify their names.
The statement reads, “the list for the first batch of Ibom 3000 training programme has been released. Youths of Akwa Ibom State, who applied for the training are enjoined to visit www.ibommarketplace.com to confirm their names.
“Successful applicants who applied through Enterprise Development Coordinators are advised to visit their respective Local Government Areas for documentation, while those who applied on the official website should visit the Ministry of Trade and Investment for documentation.


“Shortlisted applicants are expected to visit their Local Government coordinators or the Ministry of Trade and Investment with the following for documentation: 1. Photocopy of Certificate of Origin (2 copies).2. Photocopy of Certificate of Birth (2 copies).3. Two passport photographs.4. Photocopy of Academic Qualification (2 Copies).
“Shortlisted applicants should please take note that documentation will begin on Monday, February 1, 2021 and end on February 12, 2021.”.
