Akeredolu will resume soon, Omisore assures Ondo people

The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore, on Friday, expressed optimism that the Governor of Ondo state, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, would soon return to the state after his medical treatment.

Speaking during a solidarity visit to Akure, the capital of Ondo state, he said there should be no need for apprehension regarding Akeredolu’s health status.

The national secretary met with the Acting Governor, Hon. Lucky Ayedatiwa, State Chairman of the party, Ade Adetimehin, members of the State Working Committee, Secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu, Chief of Staff, Chief Gbenga Ale, members of the House of Assembly, Commissioners, and other top government officials, during the visit.

Omisore clarified that the recent wish and prayer of the APC National Chairman, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, for the governor had been misinterpreted.

He stated that Adamu never said the governor was incapacitated but lamented that a section of the media chose to be mischievous.

According to Omisore, “Mr Chairman only urged people to pray for the quick recovery of your governor; not on account of being incapacitated. Our visit, therefore, is to reinforce the position of the national secretariat that we only prayed for the quick recovery of Arakunrin Akeredolu, and not otherwise.”

The national secretary was accompanied by the Deputy National Secretary, Mr Festus Fuanter, National Vice Chairman (North Central), Hon. Bawa Muazu, and National Vice Chairman (South West), Hon. Isaacs Kekemeke.
