Again, Gunmen invade Kaduna village, kill 12, injure 7

Not less than 12 people were confirmed dead and  seven others injured following an attack by unknown gunmen at Kidandan and Kadai village in Giwa local government area of Kaduna state.
According to eyewitnesses, the bandits in large numbers stormed the village wielding guns and other dangerous weapons and attacked Kidandan on Friday.


“They came in large numbers to Kidandan on Friday and started shooting sporadically at anybody they saw, killing and injuring those they saw. They killed three of our people and wounded four others.
“On Saturday night, the gunmen again attacked the nearby village of Kadai killing  nine, while four others were in critical condition following gunshot wounds,” the witness, who doesn’t want his name mentioned, said. 


The District Head of Fatika, who is also the Kaigaman Zazzau, Alhaji Nuhu Lawal Umar, while confirming the incident, appealed to the Federal and Kaduna state government to deploy additional security personnel to the area, to safeguard the lives and properties of the people. .   


Efforts to secure police confirmation of the killings were abortive, as calls put through to the Kaduna state Police Public Relations officer (PPRO), ASP Muhammad Jalige didn’t sail through.
