ADP will form government in Kaduna, Sani Sha’aban boasts

Action Democratic Party (ADP) governorship candidate for Kaduna state, Hon. Sani Sha’aban, has stated that the party will form the next government after the March 2023 elections for the state to enjoy human capital development.

Sha’aban, who took Kaduna state All Progressives Congress (APC) to court in an ongoing suit over the conduct of the state gubernatorial primary, in which he contested and placed second after Sen. Uba Sani, said ADP as the fastest growing party in Kaduna state will sweep the guber poll come March.

He said the ADP is the masses party with the aim of ensuring human and infrastructural development, tackling security and poverty, boosting education and health and developing agriculture among others.

Speaking on what qualified him as APC guber aspirant to contest the same 2023 gubernatorial polls under the ADP, Sha’aban said the 2022 Electoral Act as ammended said, “if there is a judgment in a court, an aspirant can move to another party and contest. So, Sani Sha’aban found himself in the warm embrace of ADP. INEC headquarters released the list of candidates without ADP being included. Having realized the mistake, INEC wrote to ADP to present candidates across board. So Sani Sha’aban had the opportunity of presenting candidates for Senate, Reps, and state assembly”.

“It’s my hope and desire to actualize my dream of being the Governor of Kaduna state. Kaduna state is the center point of Northern politics, seat of the regional government, center of learning. My aspiration to be governor dates back to when I was in the House of Representatives as chairman of the pension committee. The bill was passed and everything done for the pension scheme bill to be signed by then President Obasanjo. People commended us, they said we shouldn’t rest the zeal, that we should come and satisfy the yearnings of our people.

“We don’t challenge for position, we don’t challenge for power because power belongs to God. Our aspiration is a result of people’s desire for us to come forward to serve the people, me and my deputy governorship candidate, Bishop Monday Yakunat.  Sacked teachers, widows of those kidnapped and killed, students of various tertiary institutions who woke up to find their fees increased, okada and keke napep riders contributed to the money spent on printing posters for us, Christians from churches and Muslims from Zaria.

“ADP is forming the next government in Kaduna state by the grace of God. The challenges before me in Kaduna is growing because if everybody is committed, why do I have to rest? The time has come in Kaduna state, God’s call has arrived Kaduna, it’s miraculous change in Kaduna. The influx of tsunami of all the political parties in Kaduna state. We would revive the textile industry hub. Exporting agriculture produce; tomato, ginger, pepper, yam, grains, millet, can sustain Nigeria and here we are unable to feed ourselves.

“Development starts with the people, Kaduna state can feed Nigeria. Kaduna is not a poor state, but where are we in agriculture, where are we with natural resources? The security challenges we are having, the village head, the ward head, the village councillor, the district head, the Muslim, Christian heads can do quite a lot on insecurity in Kaduna state. You are producing graduates in large number from universities and polytechnics with nowhere to go, no jobs, these are time bombs.

“What has the Muslim-Muslim ticket benefited us in four years? It has only stoke fire, hate, suspicion, suppression, lack of trust. I have a dream to bring back the glory of Kaduna state where John and Sani live together in love and harmony as friends and family. Kaduna, apart from Lagos, is the next state in debts, Kaduna state can sustain itself, we don’t need to depend on daily stipends. We would take care of whatever we meet.”
