Adebayo joins Rivers United Champions League squad

Former FC Horoya of Guinea striker Olaolu Adebayo has signed a year’s contract with an option for an additional year with NPFL champions Rivers United.

His agent Tunde Soneye said he believes the experience of the striker across Africa will be useful for Rivers United in the CAF Champions League.

“Besides Horoya, he has also played at Africa Sports in Cote d’Ivoire as well as in Gabon with FC 105 and Akanda FC,” Soneye said.

“I believe he will bring his wealth of experience to bear on Rivers United.”

Rivers United face a difficult route to the money-spinning group stage of the CAF Champions League.

They take on Liberia’s Watanga in the preliminary round of the competition early next month with the overall winners of this tie up against reigning champions Wydad Casablanca of Morocco for a place in the mini-league stage of the tournament.
