Adamawa: We’re ready for another election – APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that it had started full preparation for another governorship election in Adamawa state even, adding that the party would pursue in court to a logical conclusion the removal of Admiral Murtala Nyako as governor.
The party said all hands would be on deck to ensure emergence of “a fearless, honest, people-focused and credible candidate” ahead of the election.
Following the removal of Governor Nyako by the House of Assembly, the constitution directs that election be held within 90 days from the day of impeachment.

Addressing a press conference yesterday in Abuja, the national vice-chairman of the party, North-east, Engr. Babachir David Lawal, said in selecting the best candidate the party would not dwell much on tribe, religion or sect, adding that they would rather dwell on competence, integrity, honesty and ability to unite the people.
Lawal, who described the elevation of the Adamawa speaker to the acting governor as “a demonstration of illegality,” assured that his party would watch, monitor closely and expose all known cases.

He said: “While we await the elevation of themselves and their cronies to juicy-corruption-enable positions in government, we will be very vigilant on how they appropriate and disburse our treasury and other common wealth. And we will expose all known cases.
“So, we will soon be entertained as we watch the PDP implode, scatter and self-destruct over who their own candidate will be. Those who thought they will shame and destabilise us have only won Pyrrhic victory. In this coming election, we are the front runners because a just God is on our side.”
