Adamawa APDA petitions police over impostors

Adamawa chapter of the Advanced People’s Democratic Alliance (APDA) has petitioned the state police command over alleged impostors parading themselves as executive of the party in the state. Th e petition signed by state chairman of the party, Alhaji Umar Bello Jada and Secretary, Mr Sunday Joshua Wugira, is addressed to the state Commissioner of Police and copied the State Director Security Services, State Resident Electoral Commissioner (INEC) and his counterpart of Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commissioner (ADSIEC). Th e petition made available to newsmen on Saturday accused one Jerrry Amisa Juda and some people of going round claiming to be the state party executives.

“We write on behalf of the State Executive of APDA, Adamawa State Chapter following the unwholesome and undemocratic activities of some select few ‘soldiers for hire’ in recent weeks under the leadership of one Jerry Amisa Judah parading themselves as the State Executives of our party.” While noting that the party constitution does not provide room for faction, the petition noted that party in the state decided to write the police as a law abiding party that has respect for rule of law.

“We are taking this step towrite you as law abiding citizens who believe in the rule of law as opposed to brigandage and riotousness. Our party, founded on the prism of law and order, has carefully and meticulously taken all steps condition precedent to having an interim leadership for the party at all levels in Nigeria as enshrined in our constitution. “It is in this regard that the leadership of the party at the center has written to the state chairman, Hon. Umar Bello Jada, appointing him as the State Interim chair of the party vide a letter dated 11th June, 2017 and signed by the National Chairman of the party,” the petition stated. Jada who spoke to newsmen on the petitioned tendered his appointment letter as the chairman of the party signed by the national chairman, Mallam Shittu-Kabir Mohammed, adding that the move to create leadership crisis in the party was started by Chief Raymond Dokpesi, who had moved back to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Jada said that the failed attempt by Dokpesi to merge APDA with PDP which was rejected APDA seemed to have annoyed Dokpesi who was now out to create crisis in the party. Jada urged members of the party in the state to remain steadfast and focused in building the party which has continue to attract follower ship in the state. Meantime, Adamawa Police Command has confi rmed receipt of the petition while eff ort to get the reaction of Jerry Amisa Juda did not yield result.
