Abubakar, Mukhtar sworn in as Kebbi CJ, GQ 

 

Honourable Justice Umar Abubakar has been sworn in as substantive Chief Judge of Kebbi state. Justice Abubakar had been on acting capacity for some time before his new oath of office as CJ.

Similarly, Qadi Sadeeq Usman Mukhtar has taken oath of office as the substantive Grand Qadi of the state.Both the Chief Judge and the Grand Qadi administered the oath of allegiance and judicial oath on themselves being officers in the temple of justice, and were supervised by Governor Nasir Idris in Birnin Kebbi, Monday.The governor affirmed the resolve to look into the plight of the judiciary, assuring that  his administration would continue to provide an enabling environment for the dispensation of justice and effective performance of judges.

Dr. Nasir Idris also inaugurated chairmen and members of governing boards of six tertiary institutions and three agencies. The institutions are the Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Alieru, with Dr. Haliru Bala Jikan Daudu, as the Pro Chancellor; Adamu Augie College of Education, Argungu, with Dr. Hussaini Suleiman Kangiwa as Chairman; Kebbi State Polytechnic, Dakingari with Professor Haliru Muhammad Bandiya as Chairman; College of Basic and Advanced Studies, Yauri, with Aminu Tanko Yauri asChairman; College of Nursing Sciences, Birnin Kebbi, with Alhaji Mukhtar Yalli Bunza as Chairman, and College of Health Technology, Jega, with Magaji Abdullahi Bunza as Chairman.

Also, Rt. Hon. Hassan Muhammad Shalla will serve as Chairman, Kebbi Contributory Pensions Board, Hon. Bello Yakubu Rilisco is the Chairman State Management Emergency Agency, SEMA, Kebbi State Zakkat Board is chaired by Alhaji Umar Isah Magaji, while Alhaji Umar Malisa will serve as Chairman, the State Preaching Board.

Governor Nasir Idris informed the chairmen and board members that the appointment was based on their track record of service, urging them to endeavor to add value to good governance under democratic norms.
