5,000 APC members defect to PDP in Nasarawa

Over 5,000 Tiv APC members in Nasarawa state have dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The defectors, who came under the aegis of Mzough uTiv Forum yesterday in Lafia, said their defection was informed by the suffering of the Tiv people in the hand APCled administration in the state.
Leader of the defectors, Peter Igbacher, explained that their defection will also enable them key into the viable direction agenda of Senator Suleiman Adokwe, the senator representing Nasarawa South at the National Assembly.
Igbacher lamented that APC government under the leadership of Governor Umaru Al-Makura have not been able to favour Tiv community in the state, as any Tiv man who is genetically born can dump APC and look for alternative.
“What is happening with Tiv people in Nasarawa state today is sympathetic we cannot longer go to farm, we are displaced across the state in this administration” “Any right-thinking Tiv man who is genetically born by a Tiv has to leave the APC as a party in Nasarawa state, it is only those who thinks are not genetically born can remain in APC we have been humiliated by this government,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Mzough u Tiv has called on Senator Suleiman Adokwe to re-contest the senatorial election in the 2019 general elections.

David, said the endorsement of the lawmaker was to appreciate what he had been doing to the people of his constituency, particularly the Tiv community.
He said Tiv youths and women in the zone would do everything “humanly possible to actualise the dream of Senator Adokwe, come 2019.”
