5 killed in Anambra cult war

About five persons were reportedly killed in a cult clash at Ogidi and Ogbunike axis of Idemili-North and Oyi local government areas of Anambra state.

Source told Blueprint that the cult war was between Supreme Vikings Confraternity (Bagas) and other yet to be identified rival cult groups over unknown issues.

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Anambra state Command, Haruna Muhammed, while reacting to the incident disclosed that three persons were killed in a cult clash.

Muhammed, who declined comments on identity of cult groups involved or reasons behind the war, added that the command’s rapid response team quelled the battle that would have claimed more lives.

“It was a cult clash. They equally shot two others at Ogidi. Police patrol teams rushed to the scene and took the victims to Iyenu hospital for medical attention but were certified dead on arrival. Meanwhile, the Police are intensifying efforts to apprehend perpetrators in order to bring them to justice,” he stated.
