25 parties back APC on Aug 11 Bauchi bye-election

As the bye-election into the Bauchi South gathers momentum, 25 opposition parties in the state have resolved to form an alliance with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the bid to capture the keenly contested seat.
Chairman of the alliance, Comr. Abdullahi B. Muhammad said they had realized that their aim and objective which centred on nationalprogress, peace, security, unity and national development were similar to that of All Progressives Congress (APC).
Muhammad, who is the chairman of APA party in the state, told a press conference in Bauchi at the weekend that they were satisfied with the progressive agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Muhammad Abubakar’s administration at both federal and state levels.
“Consequently, the aligning 25 political parties have resolved to support and campaign for the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) Bauchi state in the forthcoming bye-election for the Bauchi South senatorial seat to be conducted on 11th August, 2018 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)”, he said.
Comr. Abdullahi Mohammad however said that the alliance was just for the Bauchi South senatorial bye-election as it has no relevance to the 2019 general election.
Interestingly, he said, “We are all citizens of Bauchi state”.
Muhammad stated that the aligning political parties in the state had not consulted their national secretariats in Abuja before taking the decision, stressing that it is purely centred on the interest and benefit of Bauchi state that are always in their hearts.
