2023: Nigeria needs a system, not a messiah – Hon Peller

Accord senatorial candidate for Oyo North senatorial district and the lawmaker representing Iseyin / Itesiwaju /Kajola/Iwajowa, Hon Shina Abiola Peller, Saturday, said Nigeria presently needed a system not a messiah.

Hon Peller stated this during Shina Peller Mega Empowerment programme held at Technical College, Oluwole Iseyin, Oyo state.

The lawmaker said to ensure this, the time had come for

the youth to identify the criteria to select the best candidate in the forthcoming general elections.

He stated, “A system is combination of people working togetherband that the youths should vote for problem solvers, person who has shown capacity and capability.”

Peller maintained that in the country, the youth covered 70% of Nigeria population, and about 40 millions Nigerian students, adding that this numbers must be develop critically to select the best of the month of best among candidates.

Emphasising that Nigeria must be better, the lawmaker representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju /Kajola/Iwajowa hinted that he was open to any problem solution coalition, merger strategy, adding that the youth should change the system, chase the mandate, believe in themselves, noting that election is won by the majority.

Peller said Oke-Ogun geo-political zone has been marginalised for many years and that the only way to liberate the people was for it to produce the senator for Oyo north in 2023. 

Hon Peller stressed that he decided to contest Oyo North Senatorial district seat under Accord to liberate the people of Oke Ogun from the dominance of Ogbomoso zone, saying, “Oke Ogun which has 10 local government areas is yet to produce a governor but Ogbomoso which has five local government areas has produced a governor. “

“Oke Ogun has been marginalised for several years. This is the period to liberate the zone. We are the liberation movement. We need to let our people understand that God has given us Accord to fight for the liberation of Oke Ogun. Ogbomoso has five local government areas and they have produced a governor, we have 10 local government areas in Oke Ogun and we are yet to produce a governor.”
