2023: Hold me responsible if I fail – Peter Obi

Presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP) Peter Obi Wednesday asked Nigerians to hold him responsible if failed to turn around the fortunes of Nigeria when he becomes president.

He made this known in Makurdi the Benue state capital during his campaign rally.

He said he would listen to Nigerians, get their yearnings and start solving their problems when he is made president in 2023.

He lamented the high level of insecurity in the country, saying he would secure Nigeria and return the Internally Displaced Persons IDPs to their ancestral homes and return farmers to their farms.

“Nigerians should hold me responsible if I don’t turn around Nigeria.

“If I become president, I will listen to Nigerians and start solving their problems.

“We will restructure the entire security in Nigeria and will secure the country. IDPs will go back to their villages and farmers will also return to their farms. I will support them to improve their farms.

“We will remove Nigeria from consumption to production. We will create wealth for the country and Nigerians and make our youths productive,” he added.

Benue state governorship candidate of Labour Party, Iorwase Hembe said if  Peter Obi won the 2023 presidential election, there would not be any killing in Benue state again.

He said Benue is an agrarian state but people could go to farm again even with the law banning open grazing.

“There is a law in Benue state which provide for restriction of livestock but unfortunately, it is our people that are put in cage instead of animals because of the activities of herdsmen.

“If you are president we want you to take our people back to their homes and farms.

“Right now in Benue, people come from villages to take food from towns instead of town people going to villages for food. This is not what should be,” he noted.
