2019 budgets not realistic, Makinde moves to review in Oyo

The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state, Taiwo Adisa Wednesday hinted that the governor is to review downwards the state’s 2019 budget proposal  presented by the immediate past governor of the state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.

Mr Adisa dropped this hint in Ibadan while featuring on Inspiration FM 100.5, Ibadan live programme, “Office of the Citizen” monitored by our correspondent.

The CPS emphasized that the downward review might not be unconnected with the fact that the  N280billion Oyo 2019 budget  is not realistic with the situation on ground in the state presently.

According to the CPS, the Governor Seyi Makinde is presently preparing a new supplementary budget  that will be realistic, saying, Oyo state under Governor  Makinde  needs a realistic  budget .

Mr Adisa said some loopholes  were discovered in the 2019 Oyo state budget  prepared and presented before the Oyo state House of Assembly in December by Senator  Abiola Ajimobi  as the governor  then.

The  CPS stressed that Governor  Makinde will always want things to be realistic and not just paper considering  his vision and passion for Oyo state and its people , saying “Governor  Makinde  is real, truth to himself ” and not dramatizing and doing a show.”

Emphasizing that Governor Makinde has nothing to hide, the CPS added that for now, the Governor Makinde administration is working on the realistic aspect of the existing Oyo state  2019 budget.

Mr Adisa pointed out that come 2020, the Governor  Makinde led administration  will come up with a realistic  budget for Oyo state to move the state forward.
