Over 150 athletes, 10 schools and 10 clubs are expected to participate in the ACAN Kaduna state/MA International Athletics Meet scheduled for Friday at the mondo track of Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
The tournament jointly organised by the Athletes Coaches Association of Nigeria (ACAN)and Musa Audu (MA) Athletics will feature athletes from Kaduna, Kano, FCT Abuja and Plateau states.
According to Chairman of ACAN Kaduna state chapter, Coach Michael Monyei, the schools will participate in 4X100 and 4X400 secondary school relays. Clubs will participate in 60m, 100m, 400m, 1,500m and shot put men and women. They would also take part in the 4X100 and 4X400 relays.
Coach Monyei said, “currently about 150 athletes have registered. They are coming from neighbouring states to participate, from Abuja, Kano, Jos.
“For school relays, we are expecting a minimum of 10 secondary schools. For clubs, they have started registration. We are expecting above eight clubs.”
