A fatal motor accident occurred yesterday along Gaya Gujungu road in Kano, killing 11 persons, mostly young alamajirai from Kawari village of Kiyawa local government area of Jigawa state. The children were said to be on their way to Minna, Niger state to seek Qur’anic knowledge Our correspondent, who was at the scene of the accident reports that the carnage occurred around 2.30 pm as a result of tyre burst, which made the driver on high speed unable to control the vehicle.
Nine of the young boys sustained various degrees of injuries with many of them still in coma and little help from any quota as at the time of filling this report. It was observed that the Toyota bus with registration number XB 333FK was carrying the young children of ages between nine and 12 to Minna, Niger state had 20 of them stocked in the vehicle; all of them from kawari village of Kiyawa local government area of Jigawa.
“It was a sad an terrifying situation; we have never witnessed such kind of calamity in this village, one of the sympathisers in Balawa village adjacent Gamoji, said, shedding tears. When our correspondent approached the driver of the bus who was crying, he could not utter a word because he was out of sense.
