On the recommendation of His Eminence the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El kanemi, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno state has approved the appointment of Mutawali Shettima Bukar as the new Waziri of Borno.
Prior to his appointment, Mutawali Shettima was a Deputy Registrar at the Borno State University.
He served as a Board Member of Borno Fertiliser Company Ltd Maiduguri, Borno Islamic Preaching Board, At-Risk Children Programme, and held the titles of Mala Kaka of Borno, District Head of Gwange, and Shettima Kanuribe of Borno.
The new Waziri of Borno holds a Diploma in Civil Law and a Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies. He is proficient in Kanuri, English, and Arabic.
Zulum stated that Mutawali Shettima’s appointment was based on his excellent credentials and record of public service.
The governor congratulated the new Waziri and said he looks forward to his continued service in upholding Borno’s rich traditions with excellence for the people of Borno and humanity.
