Zinaria School PTA elects Ayagi as vice-chair

The Parents-Teachers’ Association of Zinaria International School, Mararaba in Nasarawa State, has penultimate weekend elected its member, Malam Sulaiman Muhammad Ayagi, to the position of Vice Chairman.
Ayagi’s election, along with three other officials, followed existence of vacant offices consequent to the relocation of some former office holders of the association and tenure expiration.

Other officers elected were Alhaji Mustapha M. Al-Amin as Treasurer, Comrade Chika Kalu as Public Relations Officer (PRO) and Hajiya Hauwa Bello, a non-academic staff of the school’s Accounts Unit, as Financial Secretary.  This is in line with provisions of the association’s constitution to co-opt non-parents in its administration.

In his acceptance speech on behalf of the newly-elected officers, Ayagi thanked members of the association and the school management for the confidence reposed in their respective persons.

He assured all stakeholders of the school about the preparedness of the incoming executives towards adding considerable value to the school in order to uplift and uphold its motto of “excellence always.”

Ayagi was among the brains behind the resuscitation and upgrading of Al-Salafi Islamic Modern School, a community-oriented school based in Abuja. His interest cuts across stockbrokerage, real estate development and education.
The Parent-Teachers’ Association of Zinaria International School is presently chaired by Alhaji Baba Abdulsalam, an IT specialist and practising large-scale farmer.

The school is a leading private and STEM-based institution focusing wholesomely in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics; and an emerging citadel of learning in the FCT, having participated and performed excellently in a number of national and international quiz competitions, notably the Toyota Competition and the recently conducted FCT Schools Competition organised by the Media Trust Limited, publishers of the Daily Trust, amongst others.

Meanwhile, the school in its tradition will on Saturday hold this year’s Muslim Students’ Society Week tagged “Practical Demonstration of Umrah and annual Hajj exercises.”
The benefit of this according to the school include the impaction of knowledge on how to perform the annual religious obligation on the students as enshrined in the five pillars of Islam.

The event which is a brainchild of the school’s Islamic and religious knowledge department’s annual review and analysis of certain religious obligations decides to hold this year’s occasion primarily on Hajj rituals amongst Muslim Ummah irrespective of age or gender to sensitise and show practical demonstration of the Hajj rites.

Other highlights of the occasion will feature recitation of the Holy Qur’an, religious drama presentation in Arabic and other languages, rehearsal of Hajj performance of some basic fundamentals of pilgrimage in the holy land, aimed at inculcating the spirit of the annual pilgrimage and lesser Hajj amongst the upcoming generation.
