Youth minister: FIDA VC makes case for Nzonzo

The Vice Chairperson (VC) International Federation of Women Lawyers

(FIDA) in Nigeria, Adamawa state chapter, Barrister Jamila Babuba, has enjoined the think tank of the Adamawa All Progressives Congress (APC) to rally round Honourable Vrati Sahulama Nzonzo for the Ministry of Youth portfolio.

The young female lawyer, who is also a founding member of the APC and held positions for galvanising grassroots support for the party as Secretary, Directorate of Women, Presidential Campaign Council, Adamawa state and coordinated the North-east APC Professional Women Council, said Nzonzo is a top notch politician that will pull well the strings of leadership for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu among many Nigerian youth.

Babuba, who is also the President of Adamawa Women Initiative for Leadership and Development, ADWILD, and a vibrant member, North-east Support Group, Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), presented Nzonzo to Adamawa key stakeholders for endorsement as a minister.

Jamila Babuba in a press release called on the APC leadership and stakeholders like Malam Nuhu Ribadu, ex-SGF-Boss Mustapha, Murtala Nyako, Sen. Aishatu Ahmed Binani, Sen. Ishaku Abbo, Prof. Mamman Tahir, SAN, Comrade Dr. Mustapha Salihu, Hon. Aliyu Wakili Boya, Amb. Kevin Peter, Barr. Idris Shuaibu (APC state chairman), Sen.Grace Bent, Sen. Abubakar Mo’Allayidi, Hon. Yusuf, Captain Buba, Hon. Abdulrazak Sa’ad Namdas and a host of others, to present Nzonzo to Tinubu.

She said the stakeholders should make a case for the North-east and Adamawa state in particular to be considered for the position of minister of youth.

The call, according to her, was borne out of a genuine concern for the stakeholders and anyone in the party to add their voices to what she described as a clarion call by the youth of Adamawa state and beyond.

Babuba, who aspired to represent Adamawa Central senatorial zone in the National Assembly, however, appreciated President Tinubu for the appointment of Adamawa illustrious sons holding the offices of NSA, minister, EFCC chairman and MD/CEO DTAC.

While thanking Tinubu, she said the offices are no doubt key appointments with strategic portfolios that are relevant in governance.

“To begin with, let me, once again, express my gratitude to His. Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his special consideration to the people of Adamawa state as evident in his appointments in the last two months of assuming office.

“It is in view of this recognition and the level of trust on our people as demonstrated by Mr President that convinced me that the president as a listening leader can still consider the clarion call by the public, members of our party and the youth that Hon. Vrati Sahulama Nzonzo be appointed as the minister of youth.

“This is because of his track records in youth mobilisation, his detribalised nature and ability to galvanise the youth to actively key into the Renewed Hope agenda of President Tinubu,” she said.
