Yobe: Council chair hail Buni over people-oriented programmes

The caretaker chairman of Nguru local government area of Yobe state Alhaji Madu Kachalla has commended the governor of Yobe state, Mai Mala Buni, for his people-oriented projects.

He was speaking in Abuja recently during an interface with journalists.

According to the council boss, “Since 2019 to date, his mission and vision statement as a progressive governor were people- oriented programmes.”

When it is not convenient for other governors to invest in the lives of the people, Kachalla said Buni thinks otherwise as his impacts are widely seen in empowerment programmes for orphanages, empowerment of the youths, provision of employment opportunities, provision of quality and portable water supply through the repair and maintenance of existing 48 boreholes in urban, sub-urban and rural communities across Nguru and in the 17 local government areas of the state.

Other areas of intervention by the governor, he said, include the constructions of township roads, provision of ambulances in health centres and health insurance for civil servants in the state.

On his fight against insecurity, Kachalla noted that the administration was at the forefront of securing the lives and property of the people which include the fight against insurgency with regular meeting with stakeholders like the army, police, NDLEA and local vigilantes through the repair and maintenance of their vehicles.

On education, he said, “There are provisions of quality education facility to our children to enable them compete favourably nationally or internationally at various levels. There is also the repair and maintenance of school buildings and furniture, training and retraining of teachers by state ministry of education.”

He was grateful to the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari for the establishment of North East Development Commission (NEDC).
