Yobe State Executive Council (SEC) meeting chaired by Governor, Mai Mala Buni, on Wednesday approved the sum of N15,957,202,322 for the commencement of the first phase of the 3600 housing units across the 17 local government councils of the state.
Briefing journalists after the meeting, the Commissioner of Home Affairs, Information and Culture, Abdullahi Bego, said 1,800 units representing 50 per cent of the total houses would be built in the phase one.
The meeting also ratified the sum of N1,086,875,000 for the supply of 50 Toyota Hiace Hummer buses for Yobe state Transport Services Limited to provide quality and efficient services across the state and the country.
Also approved was the ratification of N273,582,463.50 and N136,000,000.00 for the construction of one kilometer road and two kilometers of concrete drainage linking Obasanjo estate with Mallum Mattari ward in Damaturu and raising of 3,000,000 seedlings and rehabilitation of three nurseries at Nguru, Gashua and Bayamari respectively.
