The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially announced that the Super Falcons, Nigeria’s women’s national football team, will commence their final training camp at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja on June 29.

This training camp marks their preparation for the highly-anticipated 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.

Scheduled to take place from July 20 to August 20, 2023, the Women’s World Cup promises to be a sensational soccer festival, showcasing the talents of female athletes from around the globe. The NFF, under the guidance of Director of Media/Communications Ademola Olajire, is determined to ensure that the Super Falcons are in peak form for this prestigious tournament.

Coach Randy Waldrum and his coaching staff are meticulously working on fine-tuning the team’s tactics and strategies to ensure that the Super Falcons are at their best. With a comprehensive training program planned, the focus is on developing the players’ physical fitness, technical skills, and teamwork.

To give the Super Falcons a memorable send-off, a grand dinner will be organized on July 1, providing an opportunity to boost team morale and bid them farewell as they embark on their journey. The team is scheduled to depart on July 2, kicking off their preparations in earnest.

In preparation for the World Cup, the Super Falcons will also embark on a 15-day final camping program in Australia. This dedicated training period will serve as a valuable opportunity for the team to acclimatize to the conditions, build cohesion, and fine-tune their strategies ahead of the tournament.

In the group stage of the Women’s World Cup, the Super Falcons have been drawn into Group A, alongside co-hosts Australia, Olympic champions Canada, and tournament debutants Republic of Ireland. Their campaign will kick off on July 21 with a highly anticipated match against Canada. Subsequently, they will face Australia on July 27, before concluding their group stage matches against the Republic of Ireland on July 31.
