Imo: Police nab 2 suspected shop burglars, recover stolen goods 

Operatives of Owerri Urban Area Command, headquarters of the Imo Police command, have arrested two suspected shop buglers namely; Usman Suleiman of Kano state and Mohammed Ibrahim of Zaria, Kaduna state, following a swift response to a distress call received from a concerned citizen at about 0300hrs that hoodlums were breaking into a shop at POWA Plaza, Rapour Hotel junction, Amakohia in Owerri North LGA of the state.

It was gathered that the hoodlums took to their heels on sighting the police but were given a hot chase by the operatives which led to the arrest of the suspects, while others escaped to the nearby bush, abandoning most of the items stolen from the shop. 

Efforts are on top gear to arrest other fleeing suspects and make them face the full wrath of the law.

Imo command’s spokesman, ASP Henry Okoye, said items recovered from the suspects included one solar panel, three damaged pad lucks, one big iron cutter, one barr, one OX standing fan, two sonic standing fans, one gas cylinder, two MI + bluetooth speakers, one ElepaQ generator, one Century 32 inches plasma TV, One 43 inches Hisense plasma TV, One Sonic Blender, One Philips Electric Kettle, One Boscon Electric Kettle, One small Sonic Rechargeable fan, One Kami 20watts rechargeable bulb, One DC Rechargeable hand fan, One Kami Rechargeable bub, Four  Touch Lights, One Generator Wires, Four Wheelbarrow trucks, and One Vivo Android Phone, all valued at over N3 million. 

“Accordingly, the recovered items have been released on bond to the rightful owner, Mr. Idika Uchechukwu, while the suspects are currently undergoing a comprehensive investigation and will certainly have their day in court,” Okoye said.
