Women’s World Cup: 2 Super Falcons players to miss Canada match – FIFA

The world football governing body, FIFA has informed the Nigeria Football Federation that the duo of Rasheedat Ajibade and Halimatu Ayinde are ineligible to face Canada in their opening Group B match in Melbourne in the early hours of Friday morning.

The two prolific players will be sorely by the team, FIFA stated that both Rasheedat Ajibade (shirt number 15) and Halimatu Ayinde (shirt number 18) are declared suspended due to their expulsion in Nigeria’s last match at the AWCON in Morocco last year.

Both players were sent off in Nigeria’s semi-final match against Morocco in the semi-final clash.

Ayinde was expelled in the 48th minute while Ajibade got her red card following  her second yellow card after VAR review in the 70th minute.
