Updated: Fire raze 20 shops In Kaduna

 No fewer than 20 shops including a pharmacy were gutted by fire in Constitution Road, Kaduna state Wednesday night
Residents who have been at home under Covid-19 lockdown were permitted by Kaduna state government to venture out on Wednesday to restock foods, drugs and other essential commodities and return back home. 


The fire incident started at about 7pm on Wednesday along Constitution Road not far from the junction that leads to the popular Obalende night spot in the state capital but the cause is yet unknown.
As at the time of filing this report, officials of the state fire service and other emergency response agencies were yet to arrive at the scene.
Unfortunately, most of the shop owners are not around having just returned back hone due to the lockdown imposed on the state as a result of the Covid-19.

Constitution Road houses the popular Ahmadu Bello Stadium and a third generation bank none of which was affected by the inferno. There are also a slew of hotels along the street, though Blueprint cannot ascertain if any of them was affected by the fire.
Most of the shop owners are not around having just returned back home due to the lockdown imposed on the state as a result of the Covid-19.

However, residents of the area, as well as passers-by were seen making frantic efforts to put out the fire.
