Updated: APC postpones NEC meeting indefinitely


The National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the All Progressives Congress APC slated for Tuesday March 17, 2029, has been postponed indefinitely.This was disclosed by chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) and Governor of Kebbi State, Mr Abubakar Atiku Bagudu after a close-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja Monday.


Fielding questions from State House correspondents after the meeting, Bagudu said the president approved the postponement of the NEC meeting and praised the APC governors for working together as a team.
“We just met with the President and we sought for his support to postpone the National Executive Committee meeting scheduled for tomorrow, until such a time that the Governors are able to report back and he granted and he was so happy that we took the step to do call for postponement,” he said.


He said the meeting was not meant to discuss the ongoing crisis in the APC but to appreciate the president for the support he has been extending to the governors.
“We did not meet over the APC crisis. The Progressives Governors’ Forum came to among other issues show appreciation to the President on how he has given access to each of us individually and collectively.
“Among the issues we discussed was the resolution that Governors have taken to work together and resolve all the issues affecting our party,” he said.
