Unity Bank and UBA both won their last group games on Sunday to join Access Bank in the semi final of the ongoing Kaduna Corporate League Cup. Fidelity Bank also won to book a ticket for the last four of the tournament in its 7th edition.
Fidelity Bank defeated Access Bank 2-1 with Nenfort Gowon scoring Access Bank’s goal, while Babatunde Murtala scored a brace to win the game for Fidelity Bank.
In the other Group B match, First Bank lost to Zenith Bank by a lone goal scored by Dauda Isuwan.
Access Bank came first in the group with six points, leaving Fidelity Bank with five points, Zenith Bank four points and First Bank one point. Zenith Bank and First Bank will play the qualification match against the 3rd and 4th placed teams in Group A
In Group A, Unity Bank outscored Microcred Micro Finance 4-1 with Aliyu Mohammed scoring a hat trick and Hamisu Haruna netting the fourth goal for Unity Bank, while Tunji Odeh scored the only goal for Microcred.
In the other Group A match, UBA defeated CBN 2-1. Seun Mohammed scored a brace to earn UBA the three maximum points, while Shehu Suleiman grabbed the only goal for CBN. Unity Bank and UBA are tied with seven points apiece, CBN and FCMB are also tied on one point, leaving Microcred empty handed.
Aliyu Mohammed of Unity Bank leads the goal chart with 11 goals, closely followed by Seun Mohammed of UBA with seven goals.
The tournament is organised annually by Bestworth Brokers and supported by Wadson International and Bertway International.
