Union thumbs up Ganduje on new minimum wage

The Joint Public Service Negotiations Council (JNC), Kano state chapter, has commended Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for implementing the new minimum wage of N30, 600 which is higher than the federal government’s by N600.

This was contained in a statement issued on Friday in Kano by JNC’s public relations officer, Mr. Magaji Inuwa.

“On behalf of the executive council members of the Joint Public Service Negotiations Council (JNC), Kano state council, the chairman, Comrade Hashim A. Saleh, heartily congratulate all workers of Kano state for Allah’s mercy to see the New Year 2020.

“We also congratulate the workers for enjoying the fulfilled promise of His Excellency, the executive governor of Kano state, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, who promptly implemented the new minimum wage of N30, 600 ahead of the federal government’s N30, 000,” the statement read in part.

He said the Council had never doubted Ganduje’s sincerity to implement the new minimum wage knowing full well his track record in salary payments.

“On behalf of all workers of Kano state, we assure His Excellency of our readiness to support the government in our areas of assignment for the overall success of his workers friendly government.”
