MAU graduates 5,545 students for 2022/2023 session

The management of Madibbo Adama University (MAU), Yola, weekend, graduated 5, 545 students in various academic categories for the 2022/ 2023 academic session.

This is the second time the university would combine yearly convocation.

Speaking at the convocation ceremony, the outgoing vice chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi Liman Tukur, said a total of 5,545 students in various academic programmes of the university graduated from the university in 2022/2023 academic session.

He further stated that out of this number, 458 bagged Diplomas, 4,282 graduated with Bachelor’s degrees, 53 had first class; 1,143 second class upper; 2,376 second class lower; 682 third class and 28 pass.

He said for the higher degrees, 41 students bagged post graduate diplomas, 630 bagged master’s degrees and 134 PhD in various fields, respectively.

He added that the certificates of all graduates are ready for collection.

The vice chancellor whose tenure is coming to an end in a month’s time, said in the last 5 years of his stewardship and with support from his team and other stakeholders, so many achievements and breakthrough were recorded.

He added that the university made progress in advancing its mission and vision.

He commended Governor Ahnadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state for always championing the causes associated with education and the university through strategic partnership which have been of mutual benefit to the university as well other stakeholders.

The chancellor of the university, HRH Okuku Uwa Umoh Adiaka III, the paramount ruler of Obot-Akara, Akwa Ibom state, urged the graduating students to be good ambassadors of the university wherever they find themselves.
