The University of Maiduguri is to re-open for the 2014/2015 academic session on Monday 20th October 2014.
A press statement issued by the Chief Information Officer/PRO of the university, Alhaji Mohammed Tanko Ahmed, in Maiduguri said: “According to a circular issued and signed by the Registrar Mal. Babagana M. Aji, the Senate of the University at its meeting held on September 30, 2014, approved the registration of new students to commence on Wednesday 22nd October 2014 and that of Returning Students on November 3, 2014, while lectures for all students would commence on Monday 10th November 2014.
Registration for all students ends on November 24, 2014, while Matriculation comes up on November 25, 2014.”
The statement added that the circular said: “The remaining calendar of events for the University indicates that the first semester examination for education, Law, GST, LLF 190 and English courses begins on Monday 26th January 2015 while first semester 2014/2015 examination for all students begins on February 2, 2015 and ends on February 23, 2015.
Lectures for second semester 2014/2015 the calendar further indicated would begin on March 2, 2015, and examination for education, law, GST, LLF 190 and ENG 101 courses comes up on June 22, 2015.”
It also stated that examination for all students would begin on June 29, 2015 and ends on July 25, 2015, with seasonal break starting on August 1, 2015.
