UEFA CL semi-final 1st leg preview: Can Bayern end season on a high?

Bayern Munich will look to draw first blood on home soil when they host 14 time winners Real Madrid at the Allianz Arena. The Bavarians got the better of Arsenal in the quarter finals, drawing 2-2 at the Emirates before securing a 1-0 win in Germany.

Having already surrendered the Bundesliga title to Bayern Leverkusen, the Champions League crown remains their only chance of silverware, with Thomas Tuchel hoping to add to the crown he lifted with Chelsea in 2021.

In their way is an in form Real Madrid side however, who have lost just once in La Liga all season. Lost Blancos put in a very impressive display to send defending champions Manchester City packing in the quarter finals on penalties, after a 3-3 draw at the Bernabeu was followed by a 1-1 draw at the Etihad.

As it stands, they are hands down favourites to go on to lift a 15th Champions League crown. Their last meeting was in 2018, with the Spaniards winning 4-3 over two legs. Can Carlo Ancelotti make it a hat trick of titles in charge of the Spanish giants?
