Abuja chapter of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, Alumni Association penultimate week set up a six man interim committee to reposition the body in the Federal Capital Territory.
The event was put together by the National Vice President 1 , Hajiya Amina Kolo in collaboration with the Global Chapter President of the alumni association, Madam Regina OmoAgege.
In a media chat after the congress, OmoAgege expressed her joy that the meeting had brought together alumni members in the federal capital territory who for many years have not had the opportunity to interact and network among themselves. According to her, the reunion could never have come at a better time than now. “I was overwhelmed with joy when I met DIG Habu Sani and other top members of our alumni family at the congress”.
OmoAgege emphasized on the bond that unites members of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, even as she urged the alumni to leverage on valuable connections and network in the interest of the Alma mater.
She is optimistic that with the zeal and determination on the faces of FCT members, UDUS Alumni will set standard for other alumni associations in Nigeria.
Those appointed to pilot the affairs of the chapter in the next one year include; Barrister Abdullahi A. Albushra, Rabi Garba, Abubakar Usman, Dr Fatima Abdullahi, Aliyu Aminu Bambale and Amina Yahaya
OmoAgege called on them to avoid the pit fall of the former executives who could not galvanise the chapter and make it vibrant. In her words ” it takes two to tango. If the followership was robust enough, Abuja chapter couldn’t have been where it was under the past leadership” She therefore called on members to rally round the new executives so as to achieve the mandate of the association which is giving back to the university.
The National President of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto Alumni Association Dr Buhari Bello Kware was represented on the occasion by Adamu Shuaibu, Assistant National Secretary1. In attendance was Joseph Ode, Assistant National Secretary 2 and many other distinguished alumni members.
In his speech, the interim chairman Barr. Abdullahi Albushra expressed gratitude for the honour reposed on him and his team and pledged to take Abuja chapter of the alumni to the next level thereby making UDUS Alumni the envy of its contemporary nationwide.
