Trailer explosion kills one in Kano

The Kano State Fire Service has confirmed the death of one Aminu Sulaiman, due to trailer explosion at Kwotago Western bye pass behind Naibawa, Kumbotso local government area.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, and made available to Blueprint in Kano on Monday.

According to the statement, the agency received a distress call from one Alhaji Auwal at 10:02 a.m. on Monday that, there was a fire outbreak at Kwotago western bye pass.

He explained that on receiving the information, a rescue team was quickly mobilized to the scene at about 10:12 am to rescue the victims.

Saminu pointed out that, a trailer conveying empty drums of engine oil, and one motorcycle were gutted by the fire.

The public relations officer hinted that the fire spread to two houses and two uncompleted buildings around the area, where one victim was trapped.

He maintained that a 36 year old man, Aminu Sulaiman, who was trapped in the building, was burnt to death.

Saminu added that the incident occurred while offloading tanks from the trailer.
