TotalEnergies celebrates 100 years in operation

TotalEnergies is set to celebrate it’s 100 -year in operation as oil producing company across the world.

The company which started operation in 1920s has recorded 100,000 employee in 120 countries world wide.

TotalEnergies founded it’s first Company -Compagnie Française des Pétroles on March 28, 1924 in France, a country without any oil.

The management of TotalEnergies said that this bold and visionary move marked the start of a century-long saga.

To secure France’s energy supply, the company said it travelled to the four corners of the globe, adapting and growing throughout the century and many technological and geopolitical upheavals.

Stating some of its challenges at the early stage of the company, it said, “we did not have access to local resources and that is why we built our competitive advantage on international expansion and technical prowess.”

These two factors according to the company have helped to shape it’s pioneer spirit and journey to this day.

In a statement the company said, “Over the years, we have continuously pushed back the boundaries – both technical and geographical – while also adapting to changing needs and customer expectations.

“This is how we accompanied the remarkable progress and development that took place in modern society during the 20th century.

“We also acquired additional expertise and experience by teaming up with Petrofina and Elf-Aquitaine, and more recently with Maersk Oil, Saft or Direct Energie.”

Admitting that oil was the energy of the 20th century, it said that natural gas and decarbonised power are central to the energy system of tomorrow.
