The plight of BASUG staff and students

A humble appeal to the Bauchi state governor, Bala Mohammed, to construct arterial road in Bauchi State University Gadau, new side which connects Senate building and the major lecture theatres.

However, the staff and students of the only state-owned university, which was established in 2011 is in dire need of access roads to enable it function optimally, academically and administratively. The thoughtful government of Bala should formulate an emergency plan to alienate the suffering of the students in Bauchi faculty of social sciences, Gadau faculty of science, Misau and Jama’are campus.

Nevertheless, attention should be given to the Senate building, where its host the vice chancellor and it’s the engine room of administrative work of the university. In doing so, the new side of the university would be motorable for government to bring succour to the staff and students.

The access road to Senate building and lecture halls is decrepit as if there are no human activities there.

It’s indisputable component of learning in which roads plays major role in spatial relations; helping create variable links between faculties, commercial activities, cafeteria etc. However, poor road in campus hinders students capability of learning and access to communications and technology.

In developed countries, more roads are built to enhance access to education which attracts positive development to country. Sadly, it’s not visible in most of the areas of learning in this institution.

Thank God, TetFund intervention has provided infrastructures that would stand the taste of time, if not supported with road network there’s high possibility that deterioration will hinder academic development (God forbid)!

In a nutshell, I hope Governor Bala Mohammed in view of the aforementioned difficulties experienced by both the staff and students of the said university, will look into my outcry and save them from this painful encounter.
