Sunshine Queens gaffer, Kayode Olujohungbe has expressed his team’s readiness to win the Nigeria Women Premier League Super Six title.
The Akure based side booked a place to compete for the ultimate prize of Nigeria Women topflight alongside Rivers Angel, Nasarawa Amazons, Delta Queens, Confluence Queens and Bayelsa Queens.
According to the handler, a victory in the tournament would help show their performance last season was not a fluke.
“This is good news for me and the players,” said Olujohungbe. “ It’s a unique opportunity for us to prove that our second position on the log and our slot in the Federation Cup final were well deserved.
“Aside that, the tournament will afford us an opportunity to train harder for the Federation Cup challenge. It’s our time to shine.
“The Federation Cup is a must win for us, we played it last year losing 2-0 to Rivers Angels so we must be ready to play Bayelsa Queens this year and win. We’re ready for the challenge”, he concluded.
