Subsidy removal: Makinde extends payment of wage award for Oyo workers by six months

Governor Seyi Makinde on Friday, said Oyo state government is to extend payment of wage award to workers in on its payroll by six months.

The governor made this known in Ibadan while speaking the official commissioning of the 12. 5km Challenge – Odo Ona Elewe-Elebu Apata Road.

He pointed out that at the commissioning of the road named in honour of a former Chairman and founding member of the Association of Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries of Oyo and Osun States, Chief Theophilus Akinyele.
He said the extension of the wage award payment for the next six months was to further cushion the effect of subsidy removal

The governor while promising to increase the level of infrastructural development in the state said he would work to bring more dividends of democracy to the people to have a voice in the decisions that affect their lives.

Governor Makinde enumerated various policies and interventions his administration embarked upon to alleviate the suffering of the masses following the removal of subsidy and that the state government would continue to meet the expectation of the people of the state.

He emphasized that the newly constructed dual road would drastically reduce transportation stress faced by the people of the area.
