Stakeholder hails female architects

Stakeholders at the ongoing biennial general meeting of  the Female Architect of Nigeria (FAN) has commended female architects in Nigeria, saying they are the ideal  agent for national development.
This is because she can combine her nurturing nature, her attention to details and her quick-wit to ensure that buildings are designed with love and purpose to suit the needs of society.
The Acting Coordinator of Abuja Metropolitan Management Council, Hajiya Safiya Umar, said that the role of female architects in this “onerous task can be appreciated when we examine the natural endowment, deposition and attribute of who is a lady.”

She said that “ the female architects have been playing a prominent role in shaping and managing the environment since time immemorial and the assertion is illustrated in their various designs be it single building, commercial complexes, public building.
“The city management on other hand can be described as the administrative process of organizing and supervising the day to day operations of the entire city’s department and agencies with the objective of ensuring that the city is functional, convenient, safe, secure and aesthetically pleasant for living, working and recreation,” she explained.
The chairperson of the occasion, Arc Jemi Ogisi, said that “the female Architect has contributed immensely to nation building and that a female architect put in her best whatever she is doing, and in architect there is no gender.”
