SDP vows to defeat PDP,  APC in Ekiti

Ahead of the governirship election in Ekiti state, the first Social Democratic Party (SDP’s) aspirant to the State Government House, Mr Akinloye Oladele Aiyegbusi, has declared that the party has enough political goodwill to defeat the two major parties in the state, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC).

Aiyegbusi, a former banker,  while speaking with newsmen after he secured his nomination form at the party’s secretariat, said SDP is poised to reap from the crisis rocking the PDP and APC in the state.
He added that defectors from both parties are already heading to the SDP.
He said: “The contest in 2018 is between APC and others. APC and PDP will fight themselves to finish.  Already yesterday 79 PDP members defected to SDP.  By the time they finish their primaries because of the crisis that will have many of them will move to SDP.”
He however added that he has carried his consultation to all the 16 local governments in the state just as he noted that SDP aspirants are still consulting amongst themselves to uphold the party ahead of the polls.
“It is the indigenes in Ekiti that are saying they are tired of PDP and APC and they want to try something else.  So I can bet you that SDP is the party to beat in the state”, he said.

The former banker, however, described his ambition as a bold step to represent the youths noting that it is aimed at stopping the adaisical policies of goverment over the years.

He added that youths have suffered enough from terrible polices and unemeployment, adding “as youths we want to take our destiny in our hands.”
He decried the disregard for tourism in the Ekiti noting that the state has no business crying over a poor internally generated revenue challenge and being over reliant on federal allocation.
“It is the youth that suffer, beg for alms, becocome motor bike riders. Enough is enough. We want to take our destinies in our hands, work within the confines of the SDP, which the social welfare of the people,” he promised.
