Sardauna lauds Customs CG over performance

The Comptroller General of the Customs Service, Mr Adewale Adeniyi, has been commended for his efforts in freeing Nigerian ports from long years of congestion with cargoes due to unwarranted bureaucratic bottlenecks.

The Sardauna of Koro, High Chief (Dr) Enoch N. Fada, who is also the National Public Relations Officer of the Sardauna Forum of Nigeria, disclosed this Monday in a statement he issued in Abuja.

He commended the efforts of the new CG of Customs Service in repositioning the organization for better performance through the emerging culture of digitalization.

Fada also averred that Adeniyi’s exploration years in the service were remarkable, with exposure to Commands and Units that had served as building blocks now enhancing his performances.

He, however, called on the CG to ensure a free flow of vehicles and other digital gadgets into the country with minimal constraints, to force down the high prices tasked the ordinary citizens by importers, and advised that the CG should muster the intellectual resources of his lieutenants to salvage the Naira currency from further depreciation against dollars.

The high chief also noted that the plight of the Naira is multidimensional which may also have some percentages of inputs from Customs operations and policies.
