Saraki sponsors examination fees of 500 Arabic students

President o the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki, has bankrolled the examinations fees of 500 Arabic students from Kwara central who intend to sit for external examination. He, at a brief ceremony at his ABS constituency’s office, Ilorin, yesterday, presented the sum of N5 million to the chairman of the Kwara state Arabic Education Board, Dr. Abdulkadir Solagberu, for the purpose of registering the students for the examination.

Saraki, who was represented by the Director-General of the ABS constituency office, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi, said the gesture was in fulfilment of his earlier pledge to bankroll the examination fees of the students. He said the gesture was to encourage the students and prospective students of Arabic studies. Saraki emphasised the importance of religion studies, noting that “it promotes and inculcate moral values in the youth.”

He urged the beneficiaries to study hard so that they could come out in flying colours in the internal examination. Responding, the chairman o Kwara state Arabic Education Board, Dr AbdulKadir Solagberu, who was represented by a board member, Dr. Yakub Abdullahi, thanked Saraki for his kind gesture. He prayed God to continue to “strengthen the Senate President and further endow him with the wherewithal to continue to provide political leadership, not only for Kwara state, but Nigeria as a whole.”
