Sancho still searching for Manchester United return

Jadon Sancho is thought to be “secretly” hoping for a return to the Manchester United first team after his rift with Erik ten Hag.

According to Sky Sports Germany, the English winger is still harbouring hopes to put on the famed red jersey at Old Trafford. Sancho continues to be banished from the first team squad as he has refused to tender an apology to his manager. The winger snapped at Ten Hag in a now-deleted post on social media that saw him claim he’s been unfairly made a “scapegoat” of United’s ill-fortunes.

Sancho has been linked with a return to his former club Borussia Dortmund in a sensational swap deal that could see Donyell Malen move in the opposite direction. However, the Black and Yellows are yet to make direct contact with the Red Devils for a potential deal as they remain unsure whether it would be financially feasible to pave the way for a second coming at Signal Iduna Park.

Sancho’s desire to get back in the fold at Carrington might not be fulfilled as Ten Hag has recently reiterated that he has no remorse over his decision to remove him from the squad despite players calling him to be reinstated. Hence, unless Sancho decides to submit an apology, it seems clear he must seek a way out of Manchester to revive his career.

Even if Dortmund agree to meet the demands of United, the player himself would have to sacrifice a significant portion of his wages as the German giants will not match the whopping £350,000 per week salary he currently earns. It has been reported that Sancho is utilising his time off to train “like a beast” and it remains to be seen whether his efforts will be acknowledged by Ten Hag.
