The Police in Rivers state have arrested two suspected robbers: Gabriel Samuel, 27, and Wokeko Samuel, 31.
A press statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ahmad K. Muhammad, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), said the duo were arrested along Cheribim Road, GRA, Port Harcourt following a distress call.
He said the distress call indicated that the suspects snatched at gun point a black Toyota Corolla with registration number ABM 473 AA, from its owner during the early hours of the day at Rumuigbo, Port Harcourt.
Muhammad said two locally made revolver pistols and two rounds of .9mm live ammunition were recovered from them.
According to him, the suspects during questioning confessed to have been members of a four man armed robbery gang that terrorizes Ada George, Eagle Island and Rumuola axis of Port Harcourt.
The spokesperson said investigation was continuing on the activities of the suspects and other gang members. (NAN)
